BabyMoon - The Banjaran Hotspring

We have been reading up the baby books and many seem to suggest that going on a babymoon to just enjoy some together time before the baby arrives is one of the must do things for first time parents.

Yes, I do feel a lot of anxiety daily thinking about how our quiet peaceful life and our let's just travel to anywhere we wish at anytime is all going to change once the baby comes. We are going to have a new member who will always be part of our plan, looking for baby friendly places/locations, safety becomes top priority, baby friendly restaurants, not to mention a third wheel sharing our room with us until god knows how old he's going to be.

We departed around 10am on Friday morning (13 October) head straight to Banjaran Hot Spring. Traffic was clear and smooth and we arrived by 1pm, but the room wasn't ready. We explored around the resort while waiting for the room to be ready. I really like the big helicopter looking fans that are placed around the resort. The resort is designed to be a very eco-conscious resort, we walked into the study room and saw the wall of trophies and recognition of the resort for its effort. It was quite gloomy the day we arrived at Banjaran so walking around the resort was not too bad, but I can imagine how sweaty it will be walking around exploring the hot springs/dipping pool/steam caves around the retreat on a hot sunny day.

We had our lunch at Pomelo restaurant, the price was reasonable for a resort restaurant and the variety was good. After lunch, we checked back at the receptionist to confirm if the room is ready and yes it's finally ready and we got an upgrade! Hooray to the most expensive room, The Garden Villa! Pregnancy luck kicking in yo!

The room was lovely, love it so much! There's a patio with private pool, a mini sunken jacuzzi with geothermal spring water at the back, and I especially love the courtyard right outside the room. Definitely one of the nicest room I've ever checked into. The receptionist explained they have monkey problems since the retreat was kinda situated in a jungle, so there's a stuffed tiger placed in every room for us to put at the patio to scare away the monkeys. And it worked! There was a monkey hanging around the tree right opposite our room for the longest time and didn't come into the courtyard area. We were questioning if it's some joke the receptionist was trying to make but as I walked along the resort area and saw stuffed tigers placed on top of the carts carrying mini fridge items, I know it works!

After checking in the room, Steven wanted to change into bathing wear to explore around the resort. We tried the dipping pool, and he also went into the steam cave, the ice bath, and many many more. The highlight of our trip is definitely the Garra Rufa Doctor Fish Pool where steven spent hours there. There's a story behind the fish pool, me and Steven both tried the whole fish pool thing before and we ran out form the fish pool when we first tried it like crazy, yes we paid, dip for less than a minute and left. So this time he decided he really want to conquer the fear of the dead skin eating fishes. We were sitting by the fish pool for hours trying, starting with toes then half submerged foot then eventually whole foot, both feet and then higher and higher and higher. The biggest smile on his face when he finally conquered the fear and told me that's his Kechara, doing his charity by letting fish eat his dead skin cells. Haha, very funny dude.

We head back to the villa for more dipping in our own pool and our own geothermal spring water before dinner. Quick simple dinner at the resort and we head back our room to rest.
